What does a class involve?

Pilates is a full-body exercise system that emphasises ore stability, strength, control, body alignment and awareness. Clinical Pilates is a specialised form of pilates with individually designed programs based on an assessment of your needs by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
It involves exercises that engage the deep stabilizing muscles of the core. It targets postural, core and gluteal strength in addition to stretching and releasing of muscle imbalances. The correct activation and conditioning of these muscles aid in normalising spinal motor control, which in turn can reduce back pain, improve muscle sporting performance and ease activities of daily living.

Classes will run for 1 hour. An Initial assessment is recommended first to assess your medical history and to determine which exercises are appropriate to be prescribed for your needs, abilities and goals.

Why should you join?

All Classes will be run by an Exercise Physiologist who will ensure you are exercising correctly. Class numbers will be kept small to ensure that personalised needs are met. We can adjust the exercises to suit your individual needs. We will help to keep you motivated, accountable and on track.
